Genealogy of the Forhman-Firman-
Farman-Forman-Foreman Family
There is an old chest in my father's
house. My father brought it from Kentucky in
1820, when he moved to Ralls Co. Mo. He said the
chest had been brought from Germany and
was three hundred and ten years old - now, it has been
one hundred and ten years since he came to
Missouri - a pretty old chest - you cannot steal
it. When in building the house, they put the
chest up stairs before they built the stairway.
Now, how did that chest get to Kentucky?
Well, there was a Saxon family that came over
to England in the 15th century by the name of
Furhman - This is a true record - But the chest
was not mentioned - no reason for it.
William Forman and his wife Elizabeth of London,
England, landed in Maryland in 1675.
He became a planter in St. Margaretts Parish,
Ann Arundel Co. Md. near Annapolis. There was
no reason for them to mention the chest.
William died about 1730. His wife, Elizabeth,
died about 1733. Each about 75 yrs old at death -
William in his will mentions but two children -
Mary and Joseph.
