Helen LeFawn Hardy, daughter of William H. and Sarah Peak Poole was born at Jerseyville, Illinois, on April 13, 1907. She had been united in marriage to James R. Hardy at Union, Mo., on January 12, 1925, and six children blessed this union.

Helen, as we knew her, lived and worked in Bourbon, Mo., most of her life. She was kind, loving, honest and industrious, and yet in a busy life found ample time to be the very best wife and mother one could have. Perhaps one such as Helen deserves more of an earthly stay than she had, but to a Christian lifetime here is only a dressing room for eternity in God's mansions.

Having known the sorrow of losing her son, Roy Franklin Hardy, in January 1966 and having experience painful illness, she prayed for divine deliverance and death came to Helen Hardy at the Sullivan Hospital on Wednesday, February 21, 1973.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her beloved husband, Ray Hardy; three daughters, Bernadine Winkler, Sarah Vanhooser and Margie Speck; two sons, James and Henry Hardy;other loved ones who remain are the sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nineteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her loving sisters, namely, Roe Fredeking, Mearle Politowitz, and Elizabeth thomas. Surviving also are her borthers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and one aunt,, Mrs. Ethel Thorpe. In addition to her loving family, Helen is also survived by many friends who also mourn the passing of this wonderful person who lived on earth 65 years, 10 months and 8 days.

Mrs. Hardy was in state at the Hoener Funeral Home in Bourbon, Mo., where funeral services for her were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 1973. Rev. Kenneth Bunting officiated. The sacred hymns were in organ solo by Mrs. Marvin Valle. Interment was in Hill Cemetary.
