Mrs. Ernie Campbell Dies in New Mexico

Mrs. Ethel (Ernie) Campbell of Sullivan died at Tucumcari, New Mexico, Monday
afternoon from a heart attack suffered the previous Thursday. Her husband, both
sons and daughter, Mrs. Louis (Bertha) Trice, were at her bedside when she
passed away in a hospital near the home of Mrs. Ellis Ragsdale, Mr. Campbell's
sister, where she was visiting.

When word came Friday of her serious illness, Mr. Campbell and George started to
drive through to Tucumcari and Edwin left later in the day by the Missouri

MRS. N.H. DERUSE

The date is July 14, 1955. The hour is 1:40 p.m.

At this hour and date five years ago, all that was life of my wife left her and
I was left alone with my dead. Having suffered for two years with the incurable
disease of cancer, she at last found relief in death.

Just a few hours before her death I was telling her how impossible it would be
for me to carry on our home with her when she countered, "You can't fail me now;

Two Birthday Honorees Feted

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pepmiller honored her father, George W. Emmons of Naylor,
and her sister, Mrs. Roy B. Gibson of Poynor, with a dinner Wednesday evening in

celebration of their birthdays.

Other guests were Mrs. Emmons, Mr. Gibson and Kenny and Richard Pepmiller. Mrs.

B.F. Wiley of St. Louis, another daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmons, who celebrated

her birthday February 20, called and talked to the family during the evening.

A beautifully decorated birthday cake formed the table centerpiece. The

Staff Sgt. and Mrs. Roy (Frank) Hardy, who were married recently in Christ Church of New Cotton, Norwich, England. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Hardy of Bourbon. The bride is the former Miss Janet Margaret Houghton of West Earlham, Norwich, Norfolk, England. After a reception and dinner at the home of the bride's parents they left for their home at 38 Theatre Road, Wells-next-the Sea, Norfolk, England where they will reside until 1962. At that time they expect to come to the United States
