Minta Ruggles Obituary

Mrs. David A. Keeney

Minta Ruggles, daughter of the late Benjamin and Lucinda Ruggles, was born in
Washington County, Mo., Oct. 23, 1870, and passed away about 2:30 o'clock
December 9, 1932, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Barth, of Esther, with whom she had made her home since last April. She had
been ill for ten days with pneumonia. She was 62 years, one month and 17 days
of age. She was married to David A. Keeney, of near Berryman, on Dec. 14, 1898,
who preceded her in death in 1916. To their union four children were born, one
daughter, Lucile, preceding the mother in death 11 years. Those living are Mrs.
Hallie Barth, of Esther, and John and Carrick, of Gofftown. She is also
survived by three grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. E.N. DeClew, of Springfield,
Mo., two brothers, Frank Ruggles, of St. Louis, and Carrick Ruggles, of Flat
River, and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Keeney was converted in young womanhood and united with the Methodist
church, being a member of the Flat River Methodist Church at the time of her
death. She was a devoted Christian, a loving and kind mother and neighbor.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Flat River
Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. A.C. Johnson, assisted by Rev. James
Miller, pastor of the Free Will Baptist Church, and burial was in Woodlawn
cemetery.
