To Make I.O.O.F. Pilgrimage to United Nations

Miss Mary Jo Cheek has been selected to participate in the United Nations
Pilgrimage, sponsored by the I.O.O.F. Lodge, next July. She was selected from
several candidates chosen by St. Francois County schools, having made the
highest score on the examination and making the most convincing comment on why
she would like to make the pilgrimage. Miss Jane Elaine Hatridge was chosen as
the alternate. A.O. Hardy, Superintendent of St. Francois schools, was chairman
of the examination committee and Raymond Stacy was county chairman of the
sponsoring organization.

What does the Berlin crisis mean for the peace of the world? What pressures and
tensions can be relieved through discussions around the United Nations
conference Table to prevent serious conflict from spreading out somewhere? How
can problems of divided states be met in places like Viet Nam, Korea, or
Germany? Can there be both a global and piece-meal approach to disarmament?
